This time of year, everyone is talking about their diet and how much weight they want to lose. I actually like New Year’s resolutions. It’s great to reflect back on the past year and create inspiring goals for the year ahead.
The problem with weight loss goals is they rarely address the real issue.
Weight gain is a symptom of a problem. It is not the problem itself. When you fail to recognize that, you put a lot of effort into doing the wrong things. You work on having more “willpower” (not possible), depriving yourself (horrible), ignoring your desires (good luck with that) and being perfect (all or nothing).
Is it any wonder why most people fail to achieve their goal?
If that’s you, it’s time to stop beating yourself up and start looking at things a little differently.
Look around you. How many people do you see who are struggling with weight problems? According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention the percentage of adults age 20 and over that are overweight or obese is 70.7%!
Wow! That is a staggeringly high percentage of our population.
Those statistics alone tell you this is not about an individual failing. You are not alone in your struggle. It is a problem of epidemic proportions.
Isn’t it time we ask ourselves why?
The answer isn’t hard to find.
Many things have changed in the past 60 years and they all contribute in some small way, but the biggest and most damaging change has been to our food supply.
I see the effects of it every day. People are chronically suffering from:
- Brain fog
- Difficulty focusing and concentrating
- Memory issues
- Anxiety and depression
- Skin problems like acne, psoriasis, and eczema
- Headaches, migraines
- Asthma and allergies
- Body aches and pains
- Acid Reflux
- Chronic constipation/diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep
This is our new normal. There is nothing normal about it.
These symptoms may not appear to have anything in common but at the root they are all inflammatory responses to a food your body sees as a foreign invader. Chemicals, food dyes, pesticides, herbicides, genetically modified foods and artificial sweeteners are not substances your body recognizes as “food.” Your body tries to protect you by creating an inflammatory response in an attempt to guard you against things it knows doesn’t belong there.
When your body is highly inflamed (*see the symptom list), it cannot – and will not – lose weight.
A detox is a perfect way to experience the truth about this.
Try our 28-Day Signature detox and I guarantee you will be stunned by the results. See for yourself how great you are capable of feeling every day when you take out the problem foods and give your body the nourishment it craves.
Don’t you owe it to yourself to figure this out?
